Je kent het wel, je hoort je ouders, je vrienden, familie of je zegt zelf wel eens dat je altijd je oplader uit het stopcontact moet halen. Maar waarom is dat eigenlijk? In deze blog nemen wij even een kijkje in de huidige energie kosten en wat het betekend voor je telefoon oplader als het altijd maar in het stopcontact blijft hangen.
Aantal gebruikers en kosten
Het merendeel van Nederland heeft tegenwoordig een smartphone, volgens de statistieken van Statista hebben in 2022, 15,75 miljoen Nederlanders een smartphone, dit is een groot deel (88,7%) van de huidige samenleving 17,75 miljoen inwoners. Om toch een beetje een idee te krijgen hoeveel kosten het met zich meebrengt als een oplader zonder telefoon in het stopcontact zit, hebben wij een kleine berekening voor je gemaakt.
Volgens het CBS kost één kWh in september 2022, gemiddeld €0,71 en een iPhone oplader verbruikt 14,4 watt per uur wanneer er geen iPhone in de lader zit. (0,71/1000 = 0,00071 euro per watt) De kosten voor het laten zitten van je iPhone per uur is dan 0,00071 x 14,4 = 0,010224 euro. Berekenen wij dit met 16 uur per dag (8 uur slaap en aan de lader eruit gelaten) komen wij op 0,163584 euro per dag en op €59,70 per jaar. Dat is flink wat geld dankzij de huidige energie kosten waar iedereen mee te maken heeft. (Als iedereen dit deed dan kost het 940.403.520 euro per jaar voor heel Nederland.)
Andere tips voor je oplader
Als we de kosten van de energie achterwegen laten, dan zijn er nog andere redenen om je oplader uit het stopcontact te houden. Door continu gebruik van je oplader, zorg je ervoor dat het slijtage niveau stijgt. Wat als gevolg kan hebben dat er kortsluiting ontstaat en waardoor je oplader sneller stuk gaat. Door kortsluiting kan er oververhitting van de oplader plaatsvinden, de gevolgen hiervan kan ervoor zorgen dat je telefoon oververhit kan worden of zelfs kan lijden tot brandgevaar.
Dus onze tip is om zoveel mogelijk de opladers uit het stopcontact te halen, om zo te denken aan uw portemonnee, uw veiligheid en om een klein steentje bij te dragen aan het milieu.
